This is actually an updated rewrite of my very first published short story and is still the story that is most dear to my heart. I was in a mood last night and rewrote it when it was way to late to get it to run by today. Because of that I see a couple of awkward wording spots now. Still, I think anyone who had a beloved grandparent will find it poignant. Hope you enjoy it.

Even better the second time around.
Thanks Mike!
Still one of my favorites!!! Chris you are such a gifted storyteller! I hope in the future there are more of these types of stories — not that I don’t care about politics or the the crazy world of EPA regulations, green house gasses, etc…. but these are golden! They are the reason I love reading your works. This really is your niche 🙂
There will be Stacey. I am returning to my roots of story telling and backing off on the politics.
You will Stacey. This election cycle has convinced me to get back to my writing roots, which is story telling and back off politics. At least change the ratio. I was writing 5 to 1 political stuff for most of the last couple of years.
